Centre Manager - Greenwood Chatswood
I started my career in early childhood education and care in 2015 and began working at Greenwood Chatswood in 2017. I hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Primary).
I have always had a passion and interest with working with children and early education. I have two younger sisters, and I believe I made a huge contribution to their early years and even now throughout their adulthood. After finishing high school, I decided to study further at university and was completely inspired by the degree in which I have now.
With my experience thus far in early education and care, I absolutely love seeing children grow and develop first-hand at our child care centre and am proud to be able to say that I contribute to their learning and development. I also love developing and maintaining such strong relationships with the families that I have come across during my career so far.
During my career I have learned that every child is unique and different and it is vital that we as educators, listen to the family and to the child and be able to provide them with the necessary tools and information to further guide and support children’s learning. My teaching style can vary from child to child and/or from age group to age group as every child learns and responds differently.
As each child is unique and different in their own way, it is important to guide and support their learning and life journey by providing them with their own opportunities each and every day to be in charge of their own learning at their own pace. Patience is key and I believe this is extremely important when guiding and supporting children throughout their early years.
Our early education and child care centre has been operating since August 2016 and we are very fortunate to have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. Many of our educators have been with our centre since the very beginning or have joined not long after we have opened. We are the centre where everyone knows all the families and the children, no matter which room they are in. We are such a close-knit team it feels like one big family.
As a Centre Manager, I have been fortunate to have such an amazing and coherent team where we share all the same values when it comes to children’s learning and development. All educators have developed such a special bond and relationship with all children and families, it makes our role so crucial and important.
Enrolling a child into child care, whether it be their very first time or if they have been in care before, is a whole learning journey on its own for not only the family but also the centre. I like to provide families with as much information as I can and really encourage families to any questions they may have for myself and/or for our educators.
We always strive to go above and beyond for our families during not only the enrolment process but during the whole experience at our early education and child care centre. It is important we provide families with the feeling of security and reassurance as they are leaving their little ones with us.
it is important for our educators to develop their initial rapport and relationships with families from the very beginning. Our centre and our team aim to provide as much information as we can to the families regarding their children and their learning and development. This is generally done through verbal conversations, over the phone or via email, whichever suits the family and their needs most. It is important to ensure we keep all things transparent and honest which it comes to their child on a day to day basis as well as their learning and development.
A fun fact about me is that I love to sing and dance! I also have a pet cat called Diamond who is a Russian Blue.
