Week One: 14th-16th October
‘Pink Art Experiences’ for every room in each of our Centres!
This incursion (just like an excursion, but held ‘in’ our Centres) will be conducted by Professional Artists from the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Education Team. The amazing artwork completed by the children will then be part of a silent auction and all funds raised will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation!

Art Experiences are taking place at all our Centres:

  • Greenwood Concord – Tuesday 14th October
  • Greenwood Macquarie Park – Wednesday 15th October
  • Greenwood Brookvale – Thursday 16th October

Week Two: Monday 20th October
‘Kooky Pants Day’ Book Reading from Author, Jennifer Reid
Breast Cancer Ambassador and President of The Children’s Book Council Sydney West Sub-branch, Jennifer has written a beautiful children’s book titled ‘Mrs T’s Kooky Pants’ which sensitively introduces the topic of cancer for children and encourages positive, informative discussion. Jennifer will be reading to the older children at each Centre and all children are invited to wear their craziest pair of pants, whether brightly coloured or with zany patterns we know that this day will bring a smile to everybody’s face!

Click here to read an interview that the Greenwood Reporter conducted with Jennifer where she lets us in on her personal experiences that led to the writing of Mrs T’s Kooky Pants, plus some practical tips for Parents when talking to their children about Cancer.

Greenwood is registered as an official supporter and you can make a donation that will go towards the Greenwood fundraising target through this link
  • Grab a Pink Cupcake at your Centre for a delicious gold coin donation!
  • Purchase a Pink T-Shirt for your Child at your Centre our custom designed, hot-pink shirt is $20 with $15 going directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation
  • Buy an Artwork as part of our Silent Auction on 30th and 31st October

Our fabulous team of Educators have also ‘GONE PINK’ with a hot pink shirt! Our Centre Leaders have also been planning some unique ways to celebrate, if you have any ideas or would like to contribute in any way or share your story, your Centre Leader would love to hear about it.
