National Science Week is off to a fantastic start across our Greenwood centres! With plenty of exploring, experiments and learning, children at Greenwood are unleashing their inner scientist and having fun. Aligning directly with three of our G–Learning Pillars, G Whiz, G Talent and G Knowledge, National Science Week aims to encourage an interest in scientific pursuits among our little ones. It’s also an opportunity to foster a love and intrigue of the world we live, in our future doctors, scientists, astronauts or even teachers!
Your child’s educators have been working away behind the scenes to get ready for an explosive Science Week! Plenty of activities have already taken shape for our budding Greenwood scientists, including making slime at Greenwood Concord, rocket design and creation at Greenwood Gladesville and learning about the Human Body as well as a Dinosaur dig at Greenwood Katoomba!
Hatch a chick with Living Eggs
A very exciting part of every centre’s Science Week activities is the arrival of Living Eggs! This fantastic program allows our children to witness first hand part of a chicken’s life cycle, watching them hatch before their eyes.
The Living Eggs Program is a unique learning experience, encouraging positive social interaction and nurturing skills in our Greenwood children. Led by the educational team at Living Eggs, each centre will be delivered eggs, 2-3 days from hatching, incubators and brooder boxes to allow for a completely humane and educational experience.
There are plenty of National Science Week events happening across Sydney, and here’s a list of some that we think sound amazing!
