Master of Teaching

“I believe that the best teacher is someone who listens to children’s needs, and applies their knowledge to scaffold children’s interests.”

My career in early learning started in 2014. I worked as a Primary School Teacher for ten years before moving to Australia. In Australia, I hold Teacher’s Accreditation and Department of Education Approval to teach. I have worked in various roles, including Early Childhood Teacher, Room Leader and Educational Leader. I have always been passionate about teaching and supporting children's growth and development. I believe that the best teacher is someone who listens to children’s needs and applies their knowledge to scaffold children’s interests.
I am very passionate about the Transition to School program, which is a huge milestone in children’s lives. I focus on building their confidence, self-esteem, public speaking, and social skills. I love to teach them how to be persistent and extend their resilience. Seeing children grow and flourish under my care is such a rewarding experience.
Our Gladesville childcare centre offers numerous benefits compared to learning at home. Firstly, the centre provides learning environments designed by experts in child development, offering diverse activities that stimulate cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Additionally, peer interaction fosters crucial social skills and enhances language development through communication. Furthermore, trained educators employ evidence-based teaching methodologies to support children's individual needs and ensure holistic development.
We are fortunate to have an amazing, long-standing team of educators and teachers who loves working together. Our team is a synergy of talents, passion, and collaboration that achieves outstanding results. Each member brings unique strengths, fostering creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. They are loving and caring and so proud of their work with children.
I believe that open communication and a welcoming environment open all the doors. That means involving families in their child's learning journey, respecting diversity, and offering support whenever needed. I am responsive to feedback and invite families to collaborate in decision-making. I prioritise building a sense of community, ensuring families feel valued and supported in their child's development.
I look forward to welcoming your family to Greenwood Gladesville early learning centre.

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Gladesville, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

#### Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

#### Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

#### Independence and life skills

Children develop autonomy, interdependence, resilience and a sense of agency through meaningful participation in everyday routines, such as preparing snack, caring for plants, and tidying shared spaces.

I can’t recommend this centre highly enough. As a parent, leaving your child in someone else’s care is one of the biggest acts of trust, and from day one the team made that trust easy.

A special thank you to Ms Mayette and Ms Jessie, who were such wonderful teachers during the early years. Their warmth, patience and genuine care created an environment where my child felt safe, happy and excited to learn.

In the preschool years, Ms Lillian and Ms Avin continued that exceptional standard of care. They are thoughtful, kind, fair and truly invested in every child’s development. They have an incredible ability to build confidence while making each child feel valued and supported.

To all the educators and staff, thank you for the love, dedication and professionalism you show every day. The positive impact you’ve had on my little family is something we’ll always be grateful for. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my child’s learning journey.

My twins started attending the centre this year and we've had a great experience. The educators have been very patient and caring with one of my children who had a harder transition into childcare. The meals, education and care have been wonderful.

June 2026 update - My son has been attending Greenwood Gladesville for 8 months now and we couldn’t be happier. He’s thriving, the centre is always spotless, and the educators are genuinely top notch. They pay incredible attention to detail and really work with us as parents to support his routine and development, we’ve even noticed him bringing good habits home, like sitting down properly whenever he has a snack. Whether it’s at drop off, pick up, or via email with the director, communication is always consistent and honest, and you can tell every educator genuinely knows and cares about the kids, not just on paper. We feel so lucky to have him there and recommend Greenwood Gladesville without hesitation.

My son had attended this Child Care for nearly three years, and during this time he has been very well cared for and has made tremendous progress.
The educators here — including Miss Rachel, Miss Lillian, Miss Jessie, and others — are incredibly loving and responsible. They truly care about each child and always do their best to support both children and parents, whether it’s helping with language differences or easing separation anxiety.
A caring and loving team is the most important part of a Child Care Center, and they truly have that here. I highly recommend this center to any family looking for a warm and supportive environment.

Greenwood Gladesville is such a warm and welcoming centre. We have been part of the Greenwood community for around 9 months now and absolutely love it! The beautiful educators made our transition to childcare so easy and stress free. We receive regular updates throughout the day which helps us feel connected and informed. The centre provides so many learning opportunities and is incredibly well resourced. We love all the natural light, outdoor play spaces and varied food menu. The centre is also great at engaging the community, inviting parents to special celebrations and incursions. We feel very lucky to have found such an amazing, supportive centre!

## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

Greenwood uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Greenwood is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
