"I am passionate about creating an environment where children feel supported, capable, and encouraged to explore their potential."

I began my career in early learning in 2001 and bring over two decades of experience working with children and families. I love that no two days are the same in early learning, and I truly value the diversity of experiences each day offers. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding that every child learns differently. This guides my approach, ensuring we provide the appropriate tools and experiences to foster each child’s growth and development in a way that suits them best. I am passionate about creating an environment where children feel supported, capable, and encouraged to explore their potential.
I believe early childhood education plays an important role in complementing learning at home. Through structured, play-based programs designed around developmental milestones, children have opportunities to build social skills, learn to share and cooperate, and develop independence in a supportive environment.
At Greenwood Notting Hill, I feel fortunate to work alongside a collaborative and supportive team of educators who are passionate about early childhood development. Our team brings a range of qualifications, experiences, and strengths, allowing us to support children in diverse and meaningful ways. We prioritise open communication, regular reflection, and consistent planning, and we value respect, inclusivity, and strong partnerships with families to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
Building strong relationships with families is at the heart of what I do. I support families by maintaining open and honest communication and being approachable and respectful at all times. I take the time to understand each family’s values and goals for their child so we can work together in partnership. By building trust, listening actively, and sharing regular updates, I aim to create positive relationships that support each child’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

"My approach is all about hands-on experiences, encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through play and collaboration."

I believe that children thrive when they take ownership of their learning in environments that spark curiosity and creativity. My approach is all about hands-on experiences, encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through play and collaboration.
Every child is unique, and I love celebrating their individual strengths, interests, and cultural backgrounds. By creating an inclusive and engaging space, I aim to inspire children to follow their own learning paths, helping them build confidence and a lifelong love of learning. I see my role as a guide and facilitator, supporting children as they explore, discover, and develop new skills in a way that feels meaningful to them. My goal is to provide a rich and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, capable, and excited to learn.

### Early Childhood Teacher (3 Year Old Preschool)

Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

"Learning should be holistic, integrating intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development to help children grow in every aspect of their lives. "

My philosophy as an Early Childhood Teacher is to create a learning environment that is fun, exciting, and based on children’s interests, while also honoring their cultural and family backgrounds.
I believe that a teacher’s role is not just to instruct but to observe, guide, and support each child’s individual journey. Learning should be holistic, integrating intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development to help children grow in every aspect of their lives. I strive to create a warm and nurturing space where children feel safe to explore, express themselves, and develop essential life skills.
By building strong relationships and tailoring experiences to meet each child’s needs, I aim to foster confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning—helping them take small steps toward big futures!

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Notting Hill, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Exploration and problem solving

Our Builders Room provides children with a unique, hands-on weekly program where they can safely explore real tools, practical skills, and creativity under close supervision. Alongside using tools, children engage in STEM activities and tailored challenges that encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation in a supportive and engaging environment.

#### Sustainability

We grow our own veggies and use natural resources in our learning experiences. We teach children about recycling and even create our own paper at times. Our educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

#### Community partnerships

We often have visits from local community services in Notting Hill to help familiarise the children with their local community, and we go out on adventures to teach the children about their local environment.

#### Music and Movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program supports children’s attentional and emotional self-regulation, as well as skills like flexibility, inhibition and working memory. Drawing on research in music education and child development, the program supports children’s learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

I've had 2 children go through this center. The first child had a good experience. However due to management changing/merging of centers we were so grateful when my second child only went once per week. No wonder staff are leaving in droves. It's really gone downhill fast. My child learnt very little from here, but lots from the local council Kinder. It's just expensive daycare.

We love Greenwood Notting Hill so much. My son has been attending since he was 10 months old. Previously attended a different childcare and we were unsure of the care he was receiving there. Thankfully a friend recommended Greenwood Notting Hill to us and it was the best decision ever to switch him over. Since coming here he has thrived and developing so well. The educators are wonderful. They are experienced, patience and kind. Whenever we are there it's like we are surrounded by family. My son has been looked after so well, from the loud and bossy little baby to the cheeky and clever toddler now. I cannot recommend Greenwood Notting Hill enough!

Unfortunately, I’ve had to revise my review from 5 stars to 1 star. This centre used to be amazing, but since a change in management and the merger with another centre, it has changed significantly.

Previously, the environment was warm and personal. Educators knew families by name and genuinely knew my child. Now it feels inconsistent; it’s often a lucky dip as to who is working, and many staff don’t recognise either me or my child.

The centre introduced lunchboxes to prepare children for school, which I initially thought was a great idea. However, I was very disappointed to discover that a permanent marker had been used to write “4” on my child’s personalised lunchbox to indicate her kinder room. This permanently damaged a personal item and when I complained about it they didn't see the problem and couldn't even explain why they did it.

At some point, I was also removed from the mailing list and stopped receiving important communications, including notifications about graduation times.

Most of the long-standing, experienced educators, the ones who made this centre so special have since moved on to other centres, which unfortunately says a lot.

I deeply miss the place I brought my baby to over six years ago. I had recommended this centre to many friends, and several of them are now also withdrawing their children.

## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

Greenwood uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Greenwood is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
