See where the extraordinary happens at Greenwood Penrith. Our long daycare and early learning centre offers child care in Penrith in the beautifully restored Thornton Hall that is ideally located for families living or commuting through Penrith, Kingswood, Cambridge Park, Werrington Downs and South Penrith.
Our centre is located near the Penrith train station with only a 10-minute walk and right across from the station is Penrith Plaza.
As you open the door to our centre, you will be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Our large outdoor areas include cubby houses, sandpits and vegetable gardens to engage all the senses. Children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our centre boasts state of the art facilities including our office area which is heritage listed.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
Our kitchen is at the centre of everything we do. We provide healthy meals and snacks that are created daily by our in-house chef, catering for all dietary requirements. Our chef engages with the children through cooking experiences in the different rooms and by providing parent packs for families living a busy life.
Your child will have access to two engaging specialised programs per term including yoga, sport, a music and language program. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.
Children and educators also love to venture out into our local Penrith community with excursions to the local cafes, Thornton park and Retirement village. We show our connection with our community through our excursions. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests. Each year we have a dental visit and the families are able to use their service through Medicare. We also have a program called STEPS who come out yearly to check the eyesight of the four-year-old children in our centre.
As members of our Greenwood community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
