Centre Highlights

Spacious and resource-rich environments

Greenwood Chatswood East is designed to be a home away from home that encourages every child’s exploration. Our resource-rich early learning environments are equipped with interactive whiteboards and natural resources, and have been carefully designed to immerse your child into a world of exploration, curiosity, and learning.

Each learning space extends onto our beautiful outdoor environment, which encourages endless ways and opportunities for play! Our outdoor environments include a bike track, climbing fort, cubby house, worm farm, sandpits, water play area and vegetable garden for children to safely develop their strength, balance, and self-confidence through play.

Dedicated and experienced team of educators

Our team of longstanding and passionate educators make up the heart of our Chatswood East child care centre. We know each child has unique talents and interests. Our experienced educators are passionate about helping every child succeed in discovering their identity and become confident, happy and resilient learners.

We are a multicultural early learning centre with several languages being spoken across our team including Mandarin, Korean, Hindi, Punjabi, Farsi, Thai, and Cantonese. We also have 3 Early Childhood Teachers for our preschool children.

Play-based curriculum  and community engagement

Play is essential to every child's learning and development. It enables children to make decisions, learn, take risks, and have fun. At our Chatswood East child care centre, our experienced team of educators and teachers plan play-based learning activities in line with national early childhood education standards. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is designed to engage in your child’s interests and allow them to experience each day in a new way, supporting their learning in the lead-up to primary school.

Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with:

  • Real Life experiences: Children participate in fun and exciting experiences such as woodworking, harvesting the veggie garden and basic cooking skills.
  • STEM program: Each age group engages in our STEM program which supports children's creativity and curiosity, and help them develop problem-solving skills.
  • Sustainability program: Each age group in our child care centre participates in a sustainability project that help children embed sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food and the importance of looking after and protecting our planet.
  • Munch and Move program: Our movement programs have been designed to foster children's physical development and help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration.
  • Extracurricular activities: As part of the daily fee the children can also enjoy extracurricular activities including a multi sports program, Yoga class, cultural program and music and movement.

  • Community engagement: We often have visits from local community guests such as swimming teachers for water safety, steps eye screening, emergency services, dentists, and other community services in Chatswood East to help familiarise the children with their local community. We have centre-based events such as child protection – stranger danger, puppet shows and little travel adventures. We also have excursions to our local park Warrane Reserve, as well as excursions to Bunnings, Woolworths, mechanic and bus depot.

Healthy and delicious seasonal meals prepared on site

Our early learning centre provides children with nutrient-rich, fresh and seasonal foods created to please even the fussiest of eaters. For variety, our menu rotates every four weeks and changes every 6 months (Spring/Summer menu and Autumn/Winter menu), with our chef catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child.

Here at our Chatswood East child care centre, we believe that by encouraging active participation in food preparation (such as growing & harvesting the fruit and vegetables, preparing, and helping cook the meal) - children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.

For added convenience, we also offer our families a grab-and-go breakfast snack and coffee.

We look forward to partnering with you and your family to provide information, support, and high-quality early childhood education and care in your child’s formative years.  Read more about what to expect on your first day, and how you can prepare.
