Angela Kim
Centre Manager - Greenwood Chatswood East
“My family is passionate about early education and are in the profession so growing up around this at a young age, I naturally love to interact with children and see them grow. ”
I began my career in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2007 and I have completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Early Childhood and a Master of Teaching. I have experience working in various early childhood settings such as community-based preschool, family day care, long day care, cultural play group and Sunday school. I have experience working with children with additional needs and supporting them to transition to Kindergarten.
Each child is unique, and we should all work towards what is best for each child. It is important to understand the child and build secure relationships to support their learning and development as all children learn in their own way and pace. I am passionate about each child’s growth and development. I want to provide the best teaching that I can provide to support their learning and development as I do not want to provide ‘one size to fit all’ approach but I am passionate about bringing them to their full capacity. This is the reason why I continue to study to learn and provide quality teaching to provide tailored teaching methods within both traditional and contemporary early childhood perspectives.
The Greenwood Chatswood East team are passionate about Early Childhood Education and proud of their profession. We strive to provide high quality of care to meet each child’s individual needs and requirements that families feel secure and confident with our service.
It is amazing that our team can be there to provide learning opportunities and maximise the outcome in the future development of a child’s life. Our team is committed to delivering high quality care to meet each child’s individual needs and requirements so that our families feel secure and confident with our centre.
Greenwood Chatswood East opened in May 2019 and our team have been working together for a long period. All team members are familiar with our children and families within the centre. Our team members are from various cultures such as Greek, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Pakistan and Nepal. We welcome and accommodate diversity in our care and education. Most of our educators are a parent of a child or children, we understand how families are feeling and expecting from the educators when they leave their child/ren with us.
We aim to ensure we provide you with all the support you and your child need when starting at our centre. We assist new families to understand the environment, routines, and access to children’s documentation. We assist families with completing enrolment forms and Child Care Subsidy. We understand the Child Care Subsidy can be confusing and as a parent myself I can help families to understand how it works and help them to complete it. We offer and encourage families to attend an orientation for a smooth transition for children.
We aim to make families lives easier by providing coffee and fresh fruit for families during their drop off and we love to celebrate various events with our families. A fun fact about me is that I loved making origami and doing hopscotch when I was young. I also used to teach violin for preschool and primary school children.
Our team at Greenwood Chatswood East cannot wait to meet your family and share in this exciting early education journey with you.
