Greenwood Childcare Exceeding Assessment and Rating

Our Officer child care centre is proud to have received Exceeding the National Quality Standard. The National Quality Standard encompasses the seven key quality areas that are important outcomes for children’s learning and development.

Spacious and inspiring environments

As soon as you enter our centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to discover, learn and grow. Your little one will love exploring our spacious outdoor areas, including cubby houses, sandpits, water play area and vegetable gardens. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.

The outdoor yard allows for more than exploration, discovery and areas of interest to engage your child, throughout the day children enjoy social interactions across the whole playground with all age groups able to mix and play together throughout various times of the day. We have several centre pets including a lizard, bird, fish and other aquatic life.

Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.

Healthy and delicious meals created on site

Nourishing meals and snacks are created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements and needs. We offer a range of healthy meals from a menu that has been approved by Healthy Eating Australia to ensure that we are meeting the children’s nutritional needs. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. Let us treat you to coffee and a snack as part of your morning routine.

Fun and exciting early learning programs

Your child will have access to a rotating schedule of engaging specialised programs including sports and music. Our educators and children explore our local community with excursions to nearby locations to extend on the children’s learning and their sense of their place in our community. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.

We promote our calendar of events to bring aspects of the community into our centre including Lunar New Year, ANZAC day, NAIDOC week, and other celebrations that fit with our local community. We also have a reconciliation action plan which allows us to keep a focus on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

As members of our Greenwood community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
