Centre Manager - Greenwood Frenchs Forest

“I enjoy coming to work daily, knowing I will positively impact the children, families, and staff in my care. ”

My early childhood education and care career began in 2005. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in the UK before embarking on a career working in early years education. I also hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I joined Greenwoods Early Education Centre in Frenchs Forest as the centre manager in 2023 after working as a centre manager in a sister centre in the area.

I have always enjoyed the fun and excitement of being around children, experiencing their world and enthusiasm for life. I have worked in several primary schools in the UK, supporting special education needs. This made me passionate about inclusive practices and education in early years. I then opened my own family day care business, which I ran successfully for over ten years.

I enjoy coming to work daily, knowing I will positively impact the children, families, and staff in my care. I believe that high-quality early childhood education sets a child up for success through the rest of their educational journey. Over the years, I have learnt that each child is unique and brings with them their own talents, interests, and experiences. Children are capable leaders in their learning, and it is up to us as Educators to nurture their independence through consultation and collaboration. I take the time to develop trusting and respectful relationships with children and their families, helping them achieve a strong sense of inclusion and well-being.

My teaching style is inspired by nature and diversity, connecting the children to our environment and community. Children are protagonists in their curriculum, and they inform the direction of their learning. I facilitate their investigations through intentional teaching in collaboration with each child and my team. Every child deserves the best start in life.

I am proud to say that I have an amazingly diverse, creative and hardworking team. Some of them have been working for the centre since it opened. Our ultimate goal is to give children the best start in life, to learn, feel secure and have the best fun with their Educators. We are also proud of our communication and relationship with our local schools that give us feedback on our school readiness program. We are also a munch and move-approved meal provider. We regularly offer extracurricular activities such as yoga, sports, dancing and music. We have educators and families who speak different languages, and our ELLA language program supports this.

I am a manager who loves tailoring communication to each family's needs. I am an open, supportive leader who will pick up the phone, be on hand to receive your email requests and regularly update you on centre activities and news. We are an open-door centre and welcome our families to drop by anytime. Many of our families have been with us for many years. We value our family's feedback and input into our practices and will frequently reach out and include our families in centre decisions.
