Centre Manager – Greenwood Lane Cove

I started working in Early Education in 2008. I started at Greenwood Lane Cove in 2023. I have been working in the early childhood sector for the last 15 years. I have an Advanced Diploma in Children services and I am working towards my Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching. I have had the opportunity to do and presented two different practitioner enquiry projects called ‘Advocating Social Justice for Infants and Toddlers’ and ‘A place to begin: collaborative approaches to foster children’s development of identity’ it has been an exceptional experience to be able to advocate and represent the children.

Working with children has taught me so many wonderful lessons. I love to see them grow and progress in amazing ways. It is invaluable to see the joy on each child’s face as they learn new things. I feel great about a career choice that makes a difference in the lives of children and their families. Working with children is gratifying, no single day at work is the same. Children make me a more knowledgeable person: Children are, by nature, very curious. Children constantly remind you of how amazing and exciting the world can be. I love seeing things with their eyes. It makes me happier and more positive person. They also often encourage me to use my imagination and find new creative ways to do things.

During my career, I have learnt that each child is incredibly valuable and unique, and they all learn differently. Once you determine someone’s learning style and intelligence area, you can teach effectively.

I am a big advocate of continuous improvement in the daily outcomes of the centre. I am also massively eager to provide a strong education to all the children by supporting them to develop and foster their social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills. I believe that building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, educators, and management delivers the best outcomes for children and families.

At Greenwood Lane Cove your child will have remarkable opportunities to develop their social skills such as sharing, communication and teamwork. We have a balanced curriculum designed to support the children’s holistic development and provide opportunities for children to learn through play with engaging, interactive, and fun activities. We also know the importance of preparing the children to get ready to enter primary schools. We believe that it begins from the moment children start to attend our learning centre, as we work on developing pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills by playing with blocks, loose parts, cooking, doing science experiments and encouraging the children to speak in front of their peers, promoting independence, and cultivating a love for learning.

My longstanding team has passionate educators that make up the heart of the child care centre. We know each child has unique talents and interests. Our experienced educators are passionate about helping every child succeed in discovering their identity and become confident, happy, and resilient learners. We are a multicultural early learning centre with several languages being spoken across our team including Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, Hindi, Oriya, and Thai.

We love to have strong connections with children and their families. We make sure every family feels welcome in our centre, and strongly encourage communication through personal interactions, phone calls, visits to the centre, emails, and interactions with our Xplor app. We are proud to promote respect in the centre and value all the children and families’ different cultures and backgrounds. We believe in open communication. Your feedback and input are incredibly important for us and our practices.
