See where the extraordinary happens every day at Greenwood Artarmon. Our child care and early education centre is located in the commercial area of Artarmon, ideally located for families living or commuting through Chatswood, Greenwich, Lane Cove, Lane Cove North, St Leonards and Naremburn.
Our centre is only five minutes away from Artarmon Train Station, Royal North Shore Hospital and TAFE St Leonards. We are also extremely close to public transport via bus on the corner of Pacific Highway.
Our Artarmon community celebrates our cultural diversity with many families from a range of different cultural backgrounds. We respect this diversity in our centre by valuing and reflecting the practices, values, and beliefs of families. Educators and children honour all the various cultures through learning about the histories, languages, traditions, and lifestyle choices of families. Look out for the cultural events and celebrations we host throughout the year while learning about the richness of each culture represented at our centre.
Sustainability is embedded throughout the centre for educators and children to learn about and foster hope, wonder and knowledge about the natural world. We have garden beds for children to plant, care for, observe the changes that occur and use the herbs within our daily menu. Families are invited to help themselves to herbs our children have lovingly planted. We encourage our families to bring in recycled items for our children to use while educating children on the importance of caring for our planet through being sustainable.
As you open the door to our centre, you will be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Our adventure-filled playgrounds include three age-appropriate playgrounds, rainbow bike tracks, cubby houses, slides, sandpits, and water play areas. Children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
When it is time to come inside, our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
The kitchen is at the heart of our centre. Nutritious meals and snacks are created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. As part of your busy morning routine let us treat you to a snack and coffee, available to grab and go.
Your child will have access to a rotating schedule of engaging specialised programs (two per term), including music, sport, yoga, art, and language. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.
As members of our Greenwood community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
