Centre Manager - Greenwood Waterloo

"Children learn best when they are happy, feel supported, safe, and of course whilst having fun."

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2016 and started working at Greenwood Waterloo in 2021. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and have worked as a Centre Manager since 2017.

I have always been passionate about children and the education sector even though my background is in economics.  I hold a Bachelor Degree and a Masters in Marketing and Business Management.  I grew up in Italy where I worked for 5 years in a corporate environment. When I moved to Australia, I decided to study early childhood education. I love it because it’s very rewarding on a human level. I love watching children learn and explore, and knowing that my team and I are helping them develop and providing them with the tools to shape them into the person they’ll become.

As an early childhood educator, I have learned that children respond incredibly well to positive interactions. They are capable of many more things than we can imagine. Children learn best when they are happy, feel supported, safe, and of course whilst having fun. I believe the best way to teach a child is meeting them at their level, getting to know them (what they like, what they’re passionate about) and try to engage them in learning experiences of interest, as well as making sure that they progress and are ready for school when the time comes.

My approach to helping children on their learning and life journey is to let them be free to learn, explore, develop and even make little mistakes (as long as they are safe). Teaching them should be fun, something we all look forward to. All children are different so of course, the approach can’t be the same for all of them.

There are so many learning benefits of attending a dedicated early childhood education and care centre.  Children need to be stimulated with different experiences, interactions that families rarely can provide them with. Children also need to socialise and build relationships with their peers, but also with educators. Children need to be free to explore and learn in a hazard-free environment.

Our team understands just how important your children are to you and we ensure we take our responsibilities seriously. Greenwood Early Education Centres has extensive policy and procedures in place to assist our team in protecting children in our care.

We understand that starting at a new centre can be overwhelming and that is why from the very first enquiry, we make sure that we address all your questions one by one. We walk families through all the forms and administration that need to be done, this includes enrolment forms, Child Care Subsidy (CCS), explaining subsidies, government caps, centre schedules, our centre menu and more.

By getting to know my families, I make sure they understand that they can trust me and feel free and comfortable talking to me about any issues they may be having. I believe in being friendly but professional at the same time, making sure I am helpful within the respect of policies and procedures.
