Centre Manager - Greenwood Central Park Duo
"I believe it takes a village to raise a child and that we all play an essential part in a child’s life and development."
I began my journey in early childhood education and care some time ago as a casual educator. I returned to the industry in 2016 after completing my diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
I believe it takes a village to raise a child and that we all play an essential part in a child’s life and development. Early childhood education is such a rewarding, valuable career! I would not want to be anywhere else; it is new and exciting every day. I never know what adventure these wonderful little people are going to take me on with them! I have been a trainee, an assistant educator, a lead educator and now, I am in management. I enjoy the journey that I have been on in childcare and am thankful for all that I have been able to see, achieve and be involved in.
We are very fortunate at Greenwood Central Park Duo to have a diverse, multicultural team who all individually bring so much to the centre. When their skills are put together, they make an amazing, well – equipped, knowledgeable group of caring, thoughtful, and proactive team members who always have the children’s interests and development as their top priority.
We believe communication is key in building long lasting relationships with our families. We encourage families to come tour our day care centre before looking to enrol. This offers families the opportunity to see our environments and what our centre provides. Upon enrolment, we encourage families to take part in orientation visits where they come and get to know their child’s room and educators, making the transition to care as smooth as possible. We provide live updates of our day using a platform called Xplor and have an open-door policy.
We strive to create continuity and consistency between the home environment and the early learning environment here at Central Park Duo. We maintain open communication and families are heavily involved in decision making processes. We ensure families beliefs, values, culture, and knowledge is heard every day and respected. We ensure families are aware of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and how to go about completing this process. During a centre tour we ensure we set the standard high and reflects our centre from the moment a family walks through our doors.
A fun fact about me is that I have a friendly pet bird called Mr Nibs who can talk and ask “whatchu doin?”
We look forward to welcoming you at Greenwood Central Park Duo!
